8-12-01: Emu Egg: 004-4 Ok, the egg is polished as much as procrastination will allow. Got to gather my courage and just start carving a line that will be where I'm going to cut this thing in half. I've never worked with an Emu egg. When I use my wood cutter tools on a chicken egg I can score the shell on the outside a bit. NOT WITH EMU egg shells, they are bumpy for one and for another they are like rocks. Man o Man. Ok, so just clear a path and bring out the metal tools to see if I can halve this egg shell without everything falling to pieces. (Patsy Cline singing in my head..."I fall to pieces:) but I digress.
