002 - First Water Lily is white, the Second is a pink and white blend for the petals.

auntyalias: I have a sheet of white already pressed, we'll press it
again to get it thinner
auntyalias: I cut off a length of floral wire
auntyalias: I'm going to fan fold this yellow and green ribbon so I
can press it with the yellow along one side of the ribbon and the
green on the other long edge.

auntyalias: I put two blends fan folded together
auntyalias: so it goes from yellow to light green to dark green
dahs512: I noticed that
auntyalias: it was all part of the same blend ribbon prep that I keep
in the stash
dahs512: trying to sneak that in
auntyalias: now I'll reduce this so I can press it into a ribbon with
the colors going down the length of it.

dahs512: she is shaping it

auntyalias: Pinch one end that goes into the rollers of the pasta
press
dahs512: ah, ok
auntyalias: hold your finger and thumb beside the ribbon cane to feed
it into the rollers
auntyalias: and then press
dahs512: I used to use those for doing highlights on hair
dahs512: tater wrappers
dahs512: she put the strip onto the foil
auntyalias: and that's just for storage
dahs512: ok
auntyalias: I took the wire I cut and bent in half
auntyalias: left a loop at the end and twisted the wire
auntyalias: and I'm going to surround this wire with a strip of this
yellow and green ribbon here, having the yellow at the top where the
loop is. I'm making that loop an anchor for clay so the petals can
stick to something

auntyalias: I pressed the white sheet at 4 settings in from the widest

dahs512: and shaping it a little longer
dahs512: slightly curving it around the stem

I'm sitting there and this window and NJ's webcam window disappeared
and I had to log back in

auntyalias: the yellow center can be tippy tapped to be those stamin
thingies
auntyalias: some texture with a pokey tool, or this wire
dahs512: I really liked that idea
bonsaikathy: or I can paint floral wire
dahs512: adds depth
dahs512: be sure to get a good pic of it NJ

auntyalias: the ones towards the camera have more pink
auntyalias: they will go in the middle
auntyalias: the further away from the camera the petals get more white
auntyalias: and those will go on the outside of the lily

auntyalias: so there's a blended petal water lily
auntyalias: it could use more petals, the ones in the middle can be
smaller and the ones to the outside be larger

bonsaikathy: I use a pop up blocker so had no idea how bad they had gotten on my site until I tried to get in at work, worse I've seen on any site
techi_mom56: i understand....you should try Netcaptor...it is a Internet explorer add on that is awesome....
bonsaikathy: I don't use internet explorer any more, we use avant browser and it works extremely well at getting rid of the darn things
