Leaving the MSAT List Family - The How-To
(Two names have been removed to protect the guilty)
This is written with Suz Black's approval.
If you want to leave the MSAT list family you may change the name of
your list to take out the MSAT reference and go off on your own. For
example, instead of the list being MSATClayArt it can be NJClayArt.
Another MSATClayArt list can be rebuilt and repopulated. Trick to
this is all the links on other sites that point to MSATClayArt will
send the traffic to the MSAT list.
(01-10-05 Note: I decided not to do that but to create a non functional
MSATClayArt list to lock down the name and drive the list members to
City-o-Clay. The MSAT
list family can get a new name for a polymer clay miniature list should they
choose to build a new one. For five years the MSATClayArt list has been
associated with the NoraJean Brand name and because of that I wish to protect
my reputation by protecting that list name)
We are not going to run after lists that were abducted. We hope you
don't delete the lists for it hurts the list members. There's over
2,000 list members who are reeling with disbelief that (First Removed Name) just
deleted the list rather than add Suz as Co-Owner. So where are they
going? They are coming back to our newly rebuilt lists.
With (Second Removed Name) changing the name of the two lists she took and
planning to delete them, like (First Rremoved Name) rather than give back to
the MSAT list family, we realized we can rebuild.
Suz said "I would rather have a couple of lists with only 10 people
on them, who are passionate and excited to be there, than to force
people to be where they don't want to be." That includes Mini
Leaders. If you don't want to be here, you don't want to be part of
the MSAT list family, you're free to go and take your list with you.
Suz kisses your cheek, wishes you luck.
The reason why Suz and I came up with this option for
MSATMiniLeaders is we realize that there are those of you who have
an ego attachment to "your list", that you don't feel Suz has a
right to be Co-Owner. If that is so then it is time to fledge and be
independent without the umbrella of the MSAT list family.
We have a lot of exciting plans for the MSAT list family and it is
imperative that the MSAT Mini Leaders be passionate and enthusiastic
about being part of this organization.
(01-10-05 Note: due to the underwhelming and openly hostile response
from MSATMiniLeaders to any idea of Moderator Training, Training with Webcam
Demo or building a subsite for their list these exciting developments are
going to be manifest with the CITY List Family that is being created now.)
That means participating as a MSAT Mini Leader on this list and not
hiding behind a veil of silence. Just as a list is what the list
members make it, if they don't post because the list is boring, then
they made it boring. Well, the same applies on this MSAT Mini
Leader's list, it is what you make it. If you don't participate and
be involved then you get what you made, nothing.
Those lists that are dormant will be getting new Moderators. So if
you have a MSAT List and you've been neglecting it, then it is time
to admit you're not interested and go off and do something that will
make you happy. If you delete the list out of spite, we shall
rebuild.
Being a MSAT Mini Leader also means adhering to the philosophy of
the MSAT list family of "Uplift, Inspire, Give Knowledge and Love"
to your list members.
(01-10-05 Note: This motto was not adhered to and when negative action
took place there was no effort to make things right by the list family
founder. When I made effort to make things right I got hate mail and threats
from people the list founder has since allied herself to. More reasons for
MSATClayArt being removed from the MSAT list family)
Cliques and infighting aren't part of the
philosophic vision for the MSAT list family. Setting a good example
for your list members is important for they will copy you. What you
say and do will reflect on the whole MSAT list family.
That includes no negative back biting on this list. For what ever we
write here will reach the public for there are leaks on every list.
Everything you write here can be seen by the general public for it
is as easy as someone here forwarding to a friend.
Now some have written Suz and asked, "Who does this NoraJean think
she is? What's in it for her?" I am a full partner with Suz with the
MSAT list family and plan to remain with her for I agree with her
vision of providing a safe and nurturing space for miniaturists to
come and have a good time.
What does a full partner mean? It means that without everyone
knowing I've been working behind the scenes for years helping Suz
where ever I can for I love her and believe in her vision for the
MSAT list family. I'm proud to be her friend and partner. That also
means that if Suz goes missing again, for what ever reason, her
daughter Shelly and I will be here looking after what Suz created.
Before (Second Removed Name) sent the police to Suz's home I had a ClayArt
Moderator, who lives in Texas, planning on going to visit, bring a
covered casserole, to ask her if everything is OK. My ClayArtMods
and I did our own search for Suz and were planning a less intrusive
way to check in on her.
Running these lists is a volunteer thing and I always remind my
ClayArtMods that it's ... God first, Family Second and everything
else can get a number and stand in line. We don't get paid for what
we do and we take money our of our own pockets to go towards the
lists we run. Suz has a right, as we all do, to take care of family
first and if there's free time and resources to do volunteer work.
All we had to do as MSATMiniLeaders is to stay on track.
What's in it for me or Suz, since selling isn't our primary focus?
Service to God. It is as simple as that. When you serve the public
for free, you serve God and won't be afraid of dying. By providing
free tutorials, setting up charities, helping folks where and when
we can we serve the Lord. I'm Muslim and Suz's Christian and we have
been working together for these 5 years to build the lists. We feel
it is more important to keep the vision of the MSAT list family as a
peaceful place to become a miniaturist, than to wrestle with Mini
Leaders who don't want to participate with shaping and guiding their
particular list or being part of this team.
Now if you have a busy and successful list, but you feel you've put
in "sweat equity" and "deserve" to be sole owner, then you need to
take the MSAT off of your list name and go off on your own merry
way. Consider it an early Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa present.
If you want to leave the list family you're free to go. Take the
list, take the members, take the photos and files. All of that
obviously means something to you so take them with you when you go.
Don't delete the lists for your list members will just come back to
the MSAT list family. They will come back to find a safe and fun
place to be. To delete the list rather than take it with you intact
is going to harm you more than it does the MSAT list family.
There's over 2,000 list members that are wondering what was (First Removed
Name) problem. There are going to be people on the lists that (Second Removed
Name ) abducted, and is planning on deleting, who will be wondering the same
thing.
Deleting lists to try to hurt Suz will just backfire and you'll just
hurt yourselves. If you plan to run a list in the future know that
it's a small world in the realm of miniatures. Google caches pages
and word will leak out that you start up lists and then delete them
in a fit of distemper.
We will simply rebuild. We spent 5 years building it so far and we
can do it again. We have no ego attachment to your lists, but the
truth of the matter is Suz founded these lists, let you be Steward
for the lists, and gave you freedom to run your list as long as it
stayed within the guidelines of the MSAT list family. She hoped that
you'd be partners in the vision. If you no longer want that role,
take the list and go be happy elsewhere.
God gave you free will, the world is wide. So with blessings and no
hard feelings, we give you your freedom to leave the MSAT List
family. Go and take your list as a gift, or stay and be a real
partner to Suz.
(01-10-05 Note : It has been made public in the last two days that Suz
has lost her passion for the MSAT list family and left it to God's Hands.
Well, God gave us all free will. We have the right to serve the public without
having hate mail filled with religious slurs sent to us with threats by Suz's
current allies who are obviously disturbed individuals.)
If you stay we do expect you to be active on your lists and not
cause negative disturbance. That means to be "present" with the
MSATMiniLeader's list when we're planning things that will effect
the whole list family. That means to post to the MiniScenesAndThings
list on a regular basis, like once a week, to announce interesting
and fun events you have going on with your list. That means when
you're offered a web space to feature your list then take advantage
of it.
To set the record straight about the new website. I paid for it. I'm
building it. I'm putting my money where my mouth is. I'm putting in
hours of my time everyday to help reconstruct the lists and guide it
back to where Suz first envisioned it to be.
If none of that interests you in the slightest then we feel it is
time for you to reconsider being here, being in the MSAT list
family. Stop being Moderator or Co-Owner or take the list with you
when you go.
All of this has been discussed at length with Suz. When I told her
she should write to the MSATMiniLeaders and tell you this she
said, "You're full partner to me, you tell them and let them know
that I approve."
(01-10-05 Note: Being full partner to Suz wasn't backed up with the
ability to guide the Mini Leaders free from personal insult and hate mail. Ok,
I know when the party is over and that's why The ClayArtMods and I decided as
a group to start up our own List Family, not limited to miniatures, inclusive
of all religious beliefs, where negative trouble makers will be banned and
common courtesy is the order of the day. For those who don't like rules, don't
join any of the new CITY lists. For those who have caused trouble with the
MSAT list family don't bother to join our new lists for we know your tricks
and won't loose any more energy in dealing with attention hungry drama
queens.)
It's time to decide, stay or go, but what ever you do be happy with
your decision. Know that there's no resistance to you leaving or
taking your list with you. We will just rebuild.
