02/23/08:

http://www.astro.com/ Register at this site, load in your birth data, get a three year transit pdf. Man oh man, will this come in handy. Now let me see how I can add the pdf file to this web section so I can get to it easily. I'll hook it up in the links area.

Poor James his computer keeps crashing when he wants to play EQII. I think he got that box from NewEgg.com too and he's had nothing but trouble with it since he got it. He's had to swap out Video cards, add memory, take out malfunctioning memory sticks. "How come memory gets corrupt on this box?" he sighs. He just replaced some memory he took out before he had to reformat his HDD recently. We've been having an inordinate amount of computer, software, webhost, problems lately.

What's totally typical is the video card recommended by EQII is malfunctioning with the latest expansion from EQII. That's the one James has. I dug out the original video card that came with that computer in case we need to swap out video cards and see if EQII keeps on crashing or not. "I just want to play the game!" he rants "I don't want to have my friends wait for me while I'm having computer problems." What a guy. "They are taking out time from their week end to help me with my character. I don't want them to waste their time." Poor honey. I wish he could just play the game too. It'll keep him from moaning and groaning so loudly.

I do feel better now that the broken new computer is on its way to the ACER repair in Texas. I insured it for $1,000, just in case, as the clerk said at the UPS Store "Just in case a Fed-ex truck hit one of our UPS trucks." I ended up spending more than $40 to send it "ground" and to insure it. James was angry at NewEgg, especially since this isn't the first time we got screwed by them. The computer he has been having problems with came in wonky. We sent it back and he got a replacement and that replacement has been wonky one way or another.

He had been saying for a long time that I needed a new computer. The one I have have outlasted 5 of his. I had it built from scratch nearly 10 years ago for $11,000. Now something comparable goes for around $500. Since I'm aiming to do e-commerce a new computer would be a good investment and a new webhost that gave me more space for less money is also a prudent move.  Now I could use an upgrade for FrontPage, which is being fazed out, but the replacement for FrontPage is getting bad beta testing reviews. I do want an upgrade to PhotoShop6. I did need a new computer to handle the upgrade.

The new computer is supposed to be able to write DVDs. I'm thinking of video tutorials on DVD as part of my product line. I need to do stand-up comedy and Bushyaib says I need a big stage to perform on, so DVDs seem like a good way to go.

James has been and still is a big fan of my art. I have to state here for the record that even if we've gone through our ups and downs he never stopped being supportive to my art. Hey, I'm a good investment, dagnabbit. Plus, as an artist, I can't cop an attitude about his involvement with EQII, it at least keeps him out of my hair when I'm working. The thought of a clingy mate makes me cringe. Sagittarius's need at least the thought of being free. But I digress.

02/21/08: Well I got the computer to the UPS store and since Said had a car for the afternoon we figured we do a big grocery shop at the mall. I have a local store I usually walk to but the prices are higher because it's a small family owned store. But since I was bumming rides and the big named store was there I thought, ok, I'll shop and the money I save can go to groceries for my son.

02/20/08: 6:00pm Take it from me, the second Saturn Return is no cake walk. That's my transits when the claymation project came to me. The second Saturn return also coincides with the fifth Jupiter return. Pluto in the 12 house has me jumping with addressing subconscious issues. 5 planets in Aquarius, can't bode well for the Leo in my chart. I'm just glad Mercury went direct. I'm tired of mixed messages, even if they are from the little voices in my head. Especially if they are from the little voices in my head.

02/20/08: 5:30pm My husband suggest I blog about this computer snafu, because a letter of complaint would hit some grunt, who has no power to do anything. I had to tell him I already have blogged it. In my little secret hide away here. Now he has the url I have to watch what I write about him.

Hey honey, what do you think about this web section?

LOL

02/18/08: $32.00 to send the computer to ACER Repair in Temple, TX. I'm covered for a year for repairs. I'll get it out to the UPS store this week. Let's say 4 days for transit, a week in repair, 5 days to get back, 16 days, little over a fortnight. I'm waiting until Mercury goes Direct, which it is supposed to do today. While Mercury was Retrograde Amy, Bushyaib's girlfriend, gave me two checks from a defunct account. We ended up doing a wire transfer but it cost me $185 in bounced check charges by the time we got it figured out. Bushyaib said he'll get the money back to me after Tuesday. So that's why it didn't go out today.

In the mean time I put together HD4DO a web section for a claymation project I've been asked to do some "spec" work for. It's also more practice in working with FrontPage Themes. One thing I've noticed is I don't get as many error messages making new pages in the subsites using the Themes. It makes it tempting to make all new web sections subsites.

I have to restrain  myself from goofing around with making my own FrontPage theme. There's still the Epson album screen shots to get copied. There's still the clean  up after moving to a new web host. My life is just a series of "To-Do" lists.

Intellectual property - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have some homework to do to get some forms to sign between me and the LA Director.

I was wondering how to save these nattering pages. I wonder if I can embed a WordPress blog on a subsite. Now that's a time sink I don't need pushed up the list of things to do.

02-16-08: The "DESKTOP PC ACER | AM5620-E5203A RT " my husband bought me from NewEgg.com , that came to me with a broken power switch, is nonreturnable and nonrefundable. There goes the $1,000 bonus James got for getting "Employee of the Month" award at work.

It was supposed to be a Valentine's gift, and coming from a husband who has been estranged, it was a big deal.

Now I have to wait to see if Acer is going to help fix this power switch or are we just screwed.

I'm never going to buy any electronic products from NewEgg.com  anymore. I am so disappointed. My current computer is so old, slow, and on its last leg. I had such high hopes for this new computer.

I'm not going to go fussing around inside of the computer to see if there's a loose cable because it'll be my luck that they will say, "Oh you went inside the computer. The warrantee is void".

Now there'll be repair costs and shipping costs and Lord only knows when I'll get the new computer back home functioning. Then the real work will begin in transferring my settings, reinstalling the software and this make me wish I hadn't given up drinking alcohol.
