Pull the hair away from the head and start snipping. This will be a grown out mullet, 1980 Glam. |

Cutting the Shag
Think mohawk, cut in a curve at the ends. When it falls it falls nice. |

Twisty ties hold up the short shag so the back mane can be fussed with. |

Pin Curls
Pull out a length of hair, twist it until it begins to curl on it's own. |

Pin Curls 2
Ease that self curing twist down to the head and pin it with miniature bobbie pins. |

Pin Curl -3
Start from the lower back and work around the edges moving upward. |

This is where folks start falling asleep in your lap, braiding corn rows, curling straight hair. |

Pin Curl - 7
Make a "snood" and dampen it with plain water. Put it over the curls and then cure. That' sets the curl. |

Miniature Bobbie Pins
Where do you get miniature bobbie pins? Got wire? Got a needle nose pliers or wire cutters? Got a minute? Measure, snip, bend and repeat a couple of hundred times. |

I forget what I did with the tail. I do remember doing tiny braids and wrapping it around the tail. |

All the miniature bobbie pins are taken out and our fellow gets a brush out. |

I was surprised with how well the pin curl worked. I was also surprised with how many mini bobbie pins I had to hunt. |

If we want larger curls we use mini "rollers". Tooth pick cut down would work. Paper Soda Straws cut down, that'll work too. |
