twinmom94002: not that hot, jenny....just hot for us
san franciscans
JennyP: wow
Fearless Leader: and the sun shines on my worktable in
the afternoon
Fearless Leader: 20 degrees above normal and I just
melted
twinmom94002: yeah...you've got those big windows
Fearless Leader: and the clay was too sticky with the
heat
Fearless Leader: ya, and I had to pull the curtains
and spritz them with water
Fearless Leader: since I don't have AC
Fearless Leader: that's why I came on early today
Fearless Leader: the sun is on the other side of the
building
twinmom94002: i had to take the kids to a hotel one
day a couple years ago because of no AC
MK (celebrate_abundance2002) joined the room

other votes
beddie0510 joined the room
JennyP: sorry I will take cold weather any day, you
can put on stuff to get warm, but there is only so

twinmom94002: ditto jenny
beddie0510: hi folks
MK: I'd appreciate any
twinmom94002: stripes are fine
Fearless Leader: ok, I'm going to get a hot cup of

beddie0510 joined the room
beddie0510: will be back later

frogger70301: oh, that is awesome!
Fearless Leader: he he he, I'm really pleased with it
MK: no...oh I love it...it's great, I have a lot of it
in the front yard and that's right on!!
Fearless Leader: but have some ideas on how to do it
next time
Fearless Leader: next time I'm going to do stripes on
a sheet
Fearless Leader: just going left to right
Fearless Leader: in the color here and some dusty
purple real pale
Fearless Leader: then press it to purple
Fearless Leader: then cut out leaf shapes
Fearless Leader: instead of doing a cane
Fearless Leader: I need those straight lines of pale
purple
Fearless Leader: with the green
claychik joined the room
Fearless Leader: Howdy Sharon
claychik: hey

Fearless Leader: LOL

claychik: heck yeah, i remember!
claychik: hey jude!!

Fearless Leader: Goyza Chick
Fearless Leader: so we're deciding which flower petal
cane to make right now
Fearless Leader: we got one vote for a striped one
jude: Hmmmm....pansy? You got any pansies there?
Fearless Leader: these are fantasy flowers really
jude: Oh, okie.
jude: Bird of paradise. LOL!
Fearless Leader: no real flowers like this just taking
techniques through their paces, and there's tutorials
out there for pansy cane already
jude: Oh, wait. You're doing canes. Forget the bird of
paradise.
jude: I like your take on the stargazer lilies.
jude: I have been imagining them in all kinds of
exotic colors.
Fearless Leader: I love the face on this Madonna
jude: She looks so serene.
esther_reeves: shes lovely
Fearless Leader: I got to finish this hinged egg
Fearless Leader: she got a baby too Esther and Elise
esther_reeves: grin
esther_reeves: is that a shell pattern on the baby?
Fearless Leader: ammonite
Fearless Leader: and mother has feathers/scale pattern
Elise: that's just beautiful!
Ann (pixxies_fairies_in_polymar) joined the room
claychik: nice Ramble, NJ, thanks!
Fearless Leader: You're welcome Sharon, thank YOU for
reading it
Fearless Leader: What's your last name now?
claychik:  but of course!
Fearless Leader: I keep on thinking of you with your
other last name
Fearless Leader: Howdy Ann
claychik: this is my day off, usually i check yer page
then
Fearless Leader: we did flowers and Aunt Jude hollared
out for Birds of Paridise
jude:
Fearless Leader: and I brought out last Easter's Emu
Effort
claychik: yeah, it's still a trip for me too to use my
maiden name
Fearless Leader: that still needs to be finished
Ann: Heyas
jude: That's okie. I can stay only an hour or so.
claychik: oh, my last name is Starnes now
Fearless Leader: let me save log so I can remember
that
claychik: k
jude: I love all the colors.
Fearless Leader: ok, here are the flowers we reviewed
so far today
Fearless Leader: and the question still is
Fearless Leader: which flower cane shall we reproduce?
Fearless Leader: and in which colors
Fearless Leader: or we can segue to sculpting
Fearless Leader: I'm easy, I got orders for everything
so we can change topics
jude: What's that in the back towards the right?
jude: My right. It has purple and green/blue?
jude: More towards the back.
jude: Further and to your left.
jude: It's next to the rim.
jude: Back more.
jude: Hmmm...maybe it's not purple.
Fearless Leader: those in the center
Fearless Leader: the one to the left
Fearless Leader: is light blue blended with red
jude: Follow the roses around the edge towards
yourself.
jude: not yet.
jude: one more.
jude: Yes!
jude: It looks like it has a pattern.
jude: Yes it does. How pretty!
jude: Kinda lacy.
Fearless Leader: let me see if I can find the cane to
that
jude: No one else has a preference?
frogger70301: I'm gonna head out so I can get a few
things done around here...
jude: OIC, interesting.
frogger70301: ttyl!
esther_reeves: I'm off now, see you soon
jude: I like that pattern. I can imagine a lot of
colors for that.
lommomy joined the room
Jackie (ljcswartz) joined the room
frogger70301 left the room
Jackie: hey
jude: Howdy!
Jackie: I'm glad I wasn't too late!
lommomy: Hello, just dropping in for a few monents
esther_reeves left the room
Fearless Leader: now this cane would be difficult to
reproduce
Fearless Leader: because I took scraps
Fearless Leader: and folded in stuff randomly
jude: Oh, it was an experiment?
jude: Okie, I can try that, then.
Fearless Leader: then stacked and saw what came out
Fearless Leader: sure, it's just an experiment,
Fearless Leader: the inserts are bulls eyes
ljcswartz left the room
Fearless Leader: mashed
jude: Yes, I was thinking mashed.
Fearless Leader: Yahoo is being bad to folks I see
Jackie (ljcswartz) joined the room
jude: Different sizes and shapes. I might give
something like that a try.
jude: Thanks, NJ.
Fearless Leader: that's what I'm hoping folks would do
Fearless Leader: just take these as suggestions
Fearless Leader: of the different techniques you could
use
Fearless Leader: it's just a snake or a sheet
Fearless Leader: and then what you do to them
jude: Go back to the other one please? I'm trying to
get a web shot.
Fearless Leader: oh you want a close up of the one you
liked?
jude: Yes. Please?
Fearless Leader: ok
jude: Pretty please with sugar on?
claychik: i'll catch you chix on the flip side, i
gotta go have some chicken soup and a smoke
claychik: tummy's been upset
claychik:
Jackie: hope you feel better soon
Jackie:
Fearless Leader: okie dokie, shim poi poi to your
tummy SharonS
claychik: thanks again, NJ
Fearless Leader: I love you
Fearless Leader: hey
claychik: thanks!
Fearless Leader: send me your snail mail
Fearless Leader: addy
Fearless Leader: in email
claychik: love you too!
claychik: okay
Fearless Leader: I'll send you Lobster Lady
jude: Okie, got it! Thanks NJ!
Fearless Leader: I'm packing up stuff
Fearless Leader: ok, Aunt Jude
claychik: next week!
jude:

Fearless Leader: These flowers are going on my next
Quarter Jar
claychik: okay, see youse later!
Fearless Leader: with a Kai Face mold
Fearless Leader: feel better honey
claychik:
claychik left the room
Fearless Leader: ok, short order time
Fearless Leader: we can do flowers, leaves, sculpting
Jackie: bright flowers??
Jackie: looks like you have done that recently though
Fearless Leader: Jude, you send me your snail mail
addy too, I'll send you this cane you like so much
Fearless Leader: it was my ugly duckling cane
jude: Oh, neato! Thanks!
Fearless Leader: and I'm touched that you like it
Fearless Leader: I thought nobody would like it
Fearless Leader: and I think it's so trippy
Fearless Leader: ruffle the edges
Fearless Leader: that paper tearing technique you
named
Fearless Leader: Jackie we can do bright flowers again
Fearless Leader: Ok, I'm going to do a flower petal, I
have purple handy, everyone ok with purple?
twinmom94002: purple is *always* good!
Fearless Leader: LOL
Fearless Leader: and how about some red blended in?
twinmom94002: yummy
Fearless Leader: then we can insert some stripes in
the middle like this one
Fearless Leader: ok?
Elise: love purple!
Jackie: super
Fearless Leader: Ok, so we got a purple flower blended
with red and some inserted stripes, they should be a
light color, so the bees can come and get pollen
Fearless Leader: we'll figure out which color to use
when we get there
Fearless Leader: first we do an easy breezy blend
jude: Drat. I have to go make the world's best lunch
for mom. NJ, I will be back as soon as I can.
jude: Bye all!
greatauntjudy left the room
JennyP: be back soon I have some phone calls to make
Jackie: blend red to purple... then change the blend
to purple top/red bottom pllug
Jackie: slice from the red end up 3/4 for times
Jackie: four
Jackie: what color do you have there? NJ
Fearless Leader: sandwich
Fearless Leader: of purple and white
Fearless Leader: in between a darker purple
Fearless Leader: a vein that was laying around
Jackie: off to fine more purple.. brb
Jackie: bk
Jackie: pretty
Jackie: was the layer over the top of the cuts... also
a vein sandwich or just purple?
Jackie: I am still mixing my purple....crumbly stuff
Fearless Leader: what's taht?
Fearless Leader: I didn't have enough vein to go all
the way around
Fearless Leader: so I just did the bottom by the red
Fearless Leader: for contrast
Jackie: looks good
Fearless Leader: stopping at the purple
Fearless Leader: where it was already purple
Fearless Leader: ok, now to construct a four petal
flower
Fearless Leader: door
Fearless Leader: there
Jackie: I love the ruffles of the pedals
Ann: that is so pretty
Fearless Leader: so now you know what to when you need
stripes in a blend
Fearless Leader: do your blend
Fearless Leader: have a vein sandwich handy
Fearless Leader: cut the plug
Fearless Leader: insert the stripe
Fearless Leader: close it up, reduce and slice and
form petals
Fearless Leader: variations on the theme....
Fearless Leader: shall we do roll call since we're at
the end of the cane?
metalartiste2001 joined the room
Fearless Leader: NoraJean, San Francisco
metalartiste2001: hey
Jackie: Jackie Maryland
Ann: Ann,West Jordan,UT
Elise: Elise, Missouri
metalartiste2001: janice, Mass.
Fearless Leader: Janice you still can't see, huh? I'm
doing your flower cane.
Fearless Leader: looks like a bunch of people went AFK
metalartiste2001: they look beautiful
Ann: Those flowers are just so cool
Fearless Leader: Janice you can see?
metalartiste2001: yes
Fearless Leader: I thought you had XP problems
Fearless Leader: or do I have Old Timer's disease
metalartiste2001: no - we're good here
Fearless Leader: then I got you mixed up with someone
else
Fearless Leader: sorry about that
Fearless Leader: Jan, that's it... not Janice
Fearless Leader: ok, ya we're kicking flowers around
today
metalartiste2001: they look so nice especially seeing
as we're getting snow again
Fearless Leader: You got snow and I was melting
yesterday
metalartiste2001: they're already talking no school
for Thursday - New England - you gotta like it!
Ann: Its actually been nice here, hurrah
beddie0510 joined the room
MK: ok...gotta get some work done (but watching a demo
and dreaming is soooooo much more fun!!) catch you
later all and thanks again NJ
celebrate_abundance2002 left the room
lommomy: I like that one
metalartiste2001: wow - that's a tight jelly roll!
Fearless Leader: actually a chevron flip
metalartiste2001: oooh
metalartiste2001: oh i see!
Fearless Leader: now let's press these on a sheet and
see what we can get
Fearless Leader: ooh crumbly blue
Fearless Leader: yick
JennyP: back
metalartiste2001: wow - gorgeous
shannonowalker joined the room
JennyP: Hi shannon
shannonowalker: Hi!
Fearless Leader: ok, well that's it for that
experiment
Fearless Leader: I'm thinking it needs to be taken to
another step
Fearless Leader: or
Fearless Leader: now just to show you how different
this same technique looks with different colors
Fearless Leader: so this is a chevron flip with white
and blue
Fearless Leader: didn't come out wow
Fearless Leader: but we can use it for something
Fearless Leader: now what if we used black and gold?
Fearless Leader: did the same chevron flip?
lommomy left the room
shannonowalker: Wow.
Fearless Leader: now if we added a touch of green
Fearless Leader: and blended it with the told
Fearless Leader: then layered it with black
Fearless Leader: we'd get this variation
Fearless Leader: touch of gold, touch of green
Fearless Leader: do a blend
Fearless Leader: lay the blend down with black and
then do the chevron flip
Fearless Leader: new trick for me
Fearless Leader: ok, so what happens when we take the
brown out, just let green and gold do their thing?
Fearless Leader: ready?
Ann: yes
shannonowalker: This should be good.
Ann: very cool
shannonowalker: Neat. I can tell the cam isn't picking
up the depth in it, though, but I can use my
imagination.
Fearless Leader: his nose got bonked
Fearless Leader: the point being
Fearless Leader: the chevron flip will give you
different patterns
Fearless Leader: depending on if you're stacking flat
sheets
Fearless Leader: or if you're stacking jelly roll
blends
Fearless Leader: this leaf here, the gold and green
Fearless Leader: the sections are jellyroll blends
Fearless Leader: that were mashed
Fearless Leader: then a separation vein sandwich sheet
put over all of them
Fearless Leader: then the chevron flip was done
Fearless Leader: this effect gives you depth
Fearless Leader: when it is just two dimensional
Fearless Leader: big difference from just stacking
flat sheets
Fearless Leader: the one on the left, the leaf
segments are jelly roll blends
Fearless Leader: I'm just enchanted with the way it
makes highlights and shadows
Fearless Leader: so I'm at a logical break
Fearless Leader: and am going to save log
Ann: ok
Fearless Leader: back
Ann: wb
twinmom94002 left the room
Elise: that is just amazing! I love how that looks
Ann: yes it sure is!
Fearless Leader: so one cane
Elise: that is gorgeous!!
Fearless Leader: can give you different leaves
Fearless Leader: if we reduced this smaller
Jackie: beautiful
Fearless Leader: or did a ton of the palm fronds
Fearless Leader: we could get different effects with
one leaf cane
Ann: yeah very neat
Fearless Leader: and that's the jelly roll blend
Fearless Leader: done with dark green and light green
Fearless Leader: any questions at this point?
metalartiste2001: got to go - thanks for the demo!
metalartiste2001 left the room
Elise: nope that was very clear!
Fearless Leader: well I got to get ready to go next
door to care for Gerald
